And right on the heels of all the articles talking about the sexism involved in vegan activism, we have some gross sexism coming from the meat industry. I’m not sure Carol Adam’s book title “The Pornography of Meat” has ever had this literal a representation before. These are some of the sickest images and I can’t even see how omnis would be enticed by them.
You’ll notice that these are all poses you would expect to see women in. Once more patriarchal society is giving us a glimpse into it’s psyche. Women are meat, something to be consumed or devoured. Women and animals are secondary and objects to be used for pleasure, profit or both.

I’m Angie Bowen, the voice here at Voice of Dissent. I’m an artist/designer living in the mountains of Colorado. I’m very passionate about feminism and abolitionist animal rights so you can expect to hear a lot about those two topics. What I find equally disturbing is that they all have “human” eyes, with large mascara’d lashes.
I do wonder if omnis are nearly as repulsed by this as we are…
Angie’s Reply: I honestly didn’t notice the human eyes (I think I was just too repulsed by the overall images that the details escaped me) and you’re right they’re very disturbing! I don’t know how anyone (omni or otherwise) could look at these without feeling physically ill.
Um…I just don’t know what to say about this. What’s strange, is that I could imagine this as a PETA add.
Angie’s Reply: You are so right, these do look like PETA ads! Degrading women and using sex to turn people off of eating animals. I think it fits perfectly! I still find it hard to believe that whatever ad company came up with this thought that it would make people hungry for meat :blah:.
OMGoddess!! This is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen… Not to mention all of these animals sitting on a gawd damn dinner plate!!! They have no skin or feathers, and look like they’ve been basted already!!! They aren’t bothering to show what horrific events have to take place for them to go from being that live being to the dinner plate. They just turned a sick sexual beastiality fantasy of theirs into ads. These fuckwads will do just about anything- well no “just about’s” to it, this proves it, they’ll do anything. Bastards!
Angie’s Reply: Isn’t it! I actually didn’t think of the beastiality fantasy before and now I’m wondering how I didn’t. It also reeks of the rape apologist mentality to me, the animals are portrayed like they want to be eaten.
God damn you are so fucking right… those kind of people need fucking shot!
